Surf Lifesaving Awards for Illawarra volunteers
The recent Surf Life Saving NSW’s ‘Awards of Excellence’ highlighted and recognized the invaluable contributions of Illawarra and South Coast Branch volunteers.
Among the winners, Bellambi SLSC stood out with four category wins. Brody Robertson was awarded for the second consecutive year as the Youth Surf Lifesaver of the Year, while Halle Bone received the Youth Volunteer of the Year award.
The other winning clubs from the region were Scarborough Wombarra, Coalcliff, Wollongong City, and Kiama Downs.
One of the notable recipients of an award was Nathan Foster from Kiama Downs, who was named the ‘Masters Athlete of the Year.’ He expressed his pride at being recognized alongside other talented athletes in this category. Additionally, Nathan is now in line for honors at the Surf Life Saving Australia ‘Awards of Excellence’ later this year.
