Wollongong Photographer Accused of Raping Sleeping Woman in Van
A photographer from Wollongong has been accused of raping a sleeping woman in a van. The trial started with the Crown’s opening submissions, which detailed the events leading up to the alleged incident.
According to the Crown’s allegations, two women, who were visiting the South Coast, met the accused photographer for the first time outside the Milton Hotel late at night on April 17, 2022. The meeting was described as spontaneous, as they decided to engage with him on a whim.
The prosecution claims that after meeting the accused, the two women spent time together and eventually ended up in the photographer’s van. However, during the night, it is alleged that one of the women fell asleep, and the accused took advantage of the situation by sexually assaulting her.
These allegations raise serious concerns about consent and personal safety. The trial will aim to determine the veracity of the claims and establish the photographer’s guilt or innocence.
